Cisco phone has no port with working configuration

Hello everyone,

I am having a strange issue:

I managed to get a 8851 IP Phone working using a sep macadress.cnf.xml. I had to use config files because it wasn't a multi platform firmware phone. I then decided to use the same file that I knew was working to create a sep macadress.cnf.xml for use with my 7962. Everything is fine all lines get detected including all passwords and proxys except for the port. I've had the same issue on a 7911, 7970 and a 7941. Weirdly as mentioned before the 8851 works just fine with the same file.

I am not quite sure what to do now as I do know that file I am using is working.

I would appreciate any help.

Note: I posted my config file so if there is any issue you can let me know. In addition to that I removed everything from the line along with some other personal stuff.

Thanks in advance,

Aluro

Here's my config file:

The first thing I'd try is registering one of your 7962s to CME using a default cnf.xml file to see if the port will work. It should by default.

Second, the pcPort=0 should enable the PC port itself. Try also setting spanToPCPort=0 to see if that enables the port. That command is used to sniff the signaling and RTP packets going to the phone by copying them to the PC port, but trying it out can't hurt.

However, I think you may need a different file for your 79XX than for your 88XX. In CME the config files can be per-phone-model rather than per-mac-address.

Maren

Maren,

first of all thanks for the quick reply. However I think there is a little misunderstanding. I don't have a CME but instead I am trying to get the phone registered to a third party SIP provider. Therefore all the complications.

I tried you suggestions but unfortunately that didn't result in a change.

You said the file I am using may be wrong. Is there any way you may have a working file that is proven to work with the 7900-Series phones?

Thanks,

aluo
