Hi!

Can someone tell me please, how does cisco phone perform voice packets/frames marking - using TOS or COS values?

I know, it seems like very simple question, but I can't find the answer

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

Please check the service parameter of the cluster.

System--> Service Parameter.

You can further see the values being conveyed to the phone in the config file.

you can download the phone config using the cmd of the windows:

tftp -i 10.197.180.40 get SEPAAAAAAAAAAAA.cnf.xml

<dscpForAudio tcl="conversational.audio.aq:admitted">184</dscpForAudio>
<dscpForPriorityAudio>180</dscpForPriorityAudio>
<dscpForImmediateAudio>176</dscpForImmediateAudio>
<dscpForFlashAudio>164</dscpForFlashAudio>
<dscpForFlashOverrideAudio>168</dscpForFlashOverrideAudio>
<dscpForExecutiveOverrideAudio>168</dscpForExecutiveOverrideAudio>
<dscpForPriorityVideo>156</dscpForPriorityVideo>
<dscpForImmediateVideo>148</dscpForImmediateVideo>
<dscpForFlashVideo>140</dscpForFlashVideo>
<dscpForFlashOverrideVideo>132</dscpForFlashOverrideVideo>
<dscpForExecutiveOverrideVideo>132</dscpForExecutiveOverrideVideo>
<dscpVideo tcl="conversational.video.avconf.aq:admitted">136</dscpVideo>
<dscpAudioForVideo tcl="conversational.audio.avconf.aq:admitted">136</dscpAudioForVideo>

Cisco phones mark voice traffic at both layer 2 and 3. You can either trust dscp (l3) or cos (l2) on your switches.
