Cisco transitioning to SIP only endpoints vs. SCCP

With the release of the newer series of handsets (7800, 8800) it seems like Cisco is transitioning to SIP only endpoints. For phones that support video on board it makes sense, are there other advantages to using SIP over SCCP? Are there any features lost using SIP vs. SCCP? Most information I could find was either old or contrary to other sources. Thank you.

With the new phones you have no choice as SIP is the only protocol since Cisco decided this will be de-facto protocol for phone control.

For phones that support both SCCP and SIP, my recommendation is to leave them as SCCP for time being unless there are specific reasons not to.  SCCP vs SIP feature parity in latest versions of CUCM are pretty much the same.
