Does anybody know is the Cisco UC Phone 6921 is supported on the Cisco Unified Communications Manager EXPRESS 7.1? From the information I got from

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/voicesw/ps6788/vcallcon/ps4625/data_sheet_c78-520029.html

it looks like it is not supported. Could anybody confirm?

Thanks

Hi Aman,

Thanks for the reply. Does this mean these are the only devices supported? Our office ordered a 7911G but we were informed that this model has reached end of life

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/voicesw/ps6788/phones/ps379/end_of_life_notice_c51-683624.html

and is not available anymore, and recommended the 6921 instead. Do you recommend any model? We have CUCME 7.1.

Thanks

Hi Moule

Looking through the CME Admin Guide (http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucme/admin/configuration/guide/cmeroad.html) the 6901 and 6911 first appeared in version 8.1. I would strongly suspect that the 6921 was added at the same time, so won't be supported, or work, in version 7.1.

You could confirm by using the CLI to access your CME, and checking the available phone types under an ephone.

The 6921 is Cisco's recommended replacement for the 7911. You can however still get hold of plenty of 7911s on the 2nd user market.

Thanks a lot for the advice, Barry!

Hi Moule,

7911was a  basic model.

Even though 6921 is replacement model for 7911, u should go for a modelfrom above table which is not ENd of Sale  and is supported for at least next 3-4 years.

regds,

aman

Hi Aman,

Thanks again. We will consider another model from the table then.

Best,
