Hi,
We have to use existing analogue phones in one of the deployment.
Do we need UCL Essential license if we are using VG350 as analogue gateway.
Previously it wasnt required with VG224 or VG248.
Thanks,

Hi,
Every analog port requires UCL essential license.
Check these:

Hi Aseem,
My question is about VG450 gateway. We are planning to use this as a MGCP gateway and FXS and FXO ports shall be connected to analog circuits . It is clear in the link you have provided that every analog port requires a UCL essential license, but in a note it says "" MGCP FXS ports do not require any license because they are not considered as analog phones.""
The VG450 will be registered with the CUCM as a MGCP gateway and the FXS ports will be connected as SCCP.
It is appreciated if you could enlighten me on this.
Thank you

Technically the MGCP configured ports will not take up a UCL license when you look at PLM or Smart Licensing like SCCP devices do, however to comply with licensing you should still purchase the license, it's just not enforced.
