Cisco Unified Communications Manager IM and Presence 9.1.1a

                  Hello guys!

     I've recently upgraded a CUCM 8.6.2, CUCxN 8.6.2 amd CUP 8.6 platforms (all running on a BE6000) to version 9.1.1a. My questions are regarding the CUP server:

1. Now that everything regarding IM and Presence is consolidated in CUCM, is the CUP server still necessary for IM and Presence (jabber) to work correctly?

2. In order to configure IM and Presence in version 9.1.1a, does everything is done on CUCM and CUCxN?

3. What happened to the profiles (jabber profile, etc.) where users were assigned to in the pre 9.1.1a CUP configuration?

1. Yes, the consolidation is only for user provisioning, presence engine is still running on IMP server

2. follow the deployment guide, outside of user provisioning all other configuration is the same as in prior versions

3. User profiles need to be reconfigured on CUCM side

Thanks Chris. During the upgrade process to version 9.1.1a, User profiles were created automatically. Hope it works as intended. Thanks again!
