CLID for outbound calls on POTS

I have an office with a 2911 router, POTS lines terminate on FXO ports used for inbound/outbound PSTN calls. Customer is requesting that call outbound calls display his main listed number. Inbound caller-ID displays correctly on the Cisco 7975 phones. The service provider can only block caller ID on the backlines for outoing calls, or can only display the CLID from each line, they cannot provide the CLID of the main number for all outgoing calls. The customer also thinks that the lines were displaying the main number before the router was power-cycled. Outbound calls round-robin, and even if I change the calls to always try the first FXO port wit the main line attached, if that line is busy calls will eventually route out the other backlines.

There are no other possibilities to display one outgoing number with POTS lines correct? For now there is no current option to change his service to PRI.

Stacy,

Yes you are correct.

It is the service provider who sets the clid for your

outgoing calls.

(All you can do is send the with-hold number code

in front of your called number.)

May be the lines can be grouped by the service provider to a single

CLI number but it not something that you can control from the

router

Alex.
