Clock synchronization issues for multiple PRI cards

Hi,

I have a voice router equiped with 2 T1-PRI cards(4 port & 2 port), currently having the PSTN connected to the 4-port PRI and the 2-port PRI connected to a voice conference device. In the global configurations the clock source given is the PSTN port 0/2/0, since i am getting some voice quality issues with the conference extension i just checked the port and then realized that there are errors in the controller connected to the audio conference device. How do i mention the clock source for this second card 0/1/0 ?

sh network-clocks

Hi

please use the below command

network-clock-participate wic 2

thank you

please rate if this will help

He must have network participate already in otherwise he could not have configured the PRI.

Please post your full config and are all 4 circuits from PSTN from the same carrier?

Basically you want to clock of the PSTN in selected order, but the conferencing device should only participate in clocking and run line clock.

HTH,

Chris

3 ports in Card-1 is connected to PRI, 1 to Conference. The second card, 2 ports connected to conference.

Please find the PRI configurations below.

I am assuming that the conferencing system is on-prem solution of some kind, in either case this setup will cause issues as you are clocking of off PSTN and also try to clock off of the conference since it is on the same card and in fact all cards in HWIC slots are on the same clocking domain.  The only sure way of fixing this is to get HDV card which would separate the clocking and put the conference PRIs on it.  You can try separating conference PRIs from PSTN PRIs onto separate VWIC cards but again the motherboard is a single clocking domain.

HTH,

Chris

chris,

So you mean i dont have a straight forward option to fix all my clock sync errors ? Please find the controller status below, few of them have errors or slip secs and i beleive the slip secs is because of clock syn issues.

Following up on Chris thoughts...What type of device is the conference station..Does it have its own clock source? Can you change the clock source on it such that its taking clocking from the PRI since the PRI is already sourcing its own clock from the PSTN

The conference device we have is the POLYCOM MGC-50, let me check whether this device can source the clock from the router PRI.

Hope this will help us to fix the issue.

Section 5-139 talks about clocking..Check what yours is set to
