Hello Cisco Support Forums,
We have deployed a CME system with some 6941 phones, and we have ran up against a limitation of the phone. It seems that the 6941 (unlike the 7900 series) cannot create a second channel unless you use the conference or call transfer soft-keys; the New-call button does not work if you already have a call open.
I don't see this as a critical issue, because there are few scenarios when one would want to create a second call (and you don't intend to conference or transfer) but it did come up in our training sessions because it is different than the 7900.
My question is if there is some kind of a workaround we can use, or should I just create a soft-key template that removes the New-call button?
Paul

From the data sheet:
The Cisco Unified IP Phone 6941 supports single-call per-line appearance, offering traditional telephony-like user experience for customers who seek this type of call interaction for their users.
My recommendation: for great results in IP telephony, stick with the 79xx.

Yeah, great recommendation, thanks Paolo (5 points). It would be great an IP Phone 7911 with full-duplex speakerphone.

Thanks - we'll be sure to know this for the next job.
This time we'll just create a template so the NewCall button doesn't show up when a call is already in session.
