Hi,
I've instaled cme 8.0 running on a Cisco 2911.
I've Cisco Ip phones model 7911, 7921 and 7962.
Any of the phones cannot load the local directory.
I've already configured put this commands:
telephony-service
url directories http://10.35.109.253:80/localdirectory
directory first-name-first
service local-directory.
Someone can help me?
Best regards,

Do you want local directory, or an external directory ?
If local, remove the rul directories command, and check that you have no http access-class or other blocks.

Hi Paolo,
Thanks for your answer.
For now, I just want the local directory.
I've removed the directories command and the problem remain.
I don't have any access-list or other commands blocking any type of traffic.
Any other ideia?
Best regards,
Luis Matos

Hi,
what do you see when you input the url to internet explorer? what do you mean by "phone cannot load the directory"? do you see any error?
if you can successfully see the directory services in IE, try to upgrade the firmware of one IP Phone and see if that works.

Hi Paul,
Thanks for your answer.
When i put the url in IE, it gives me error, can't open the page.
I can't see any error, but when i go to the Directory menu, the local directory simply does not appear.
The firmware version of the phones are:
load 7911 SCCP11.8-5-3S
load 7921 CP7921G-1.3.3
load 7962 SCCP42.8-5-3S

Hi,
I think you're using the external directory command and will not work for local directory. See below helpful link (configuring Local Directory Service);
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucme/admin/configuration/guide/cmedirs.html#wp1010670
To configure a searchable system wide phone directory that is accessible via the Directories button on your phone, you will need to create a directory entry database on your CCME router. CCME can store up to 100 searchable names and phone numbers, with a customizable search order.
An example configuration is below, with first name being listed first.
telephony-service
directory first-name-first
directory entry 1 5551212 name "Michael Jordan"
directory entry 2 5552323 name "Chito Miranda"
directory entry 3 5559111 name "Sam Pinto"
Then by pressing the Directories button on your phone, and selecting Local Directory, you can then search against the CCME system wide phone directory. To erase all directory entries on your router quickly, use the "directory entry clear" command in telephony-service configuration mode.
HTH

Hi Paul,
Thanks again for your answer.
I've tried your tip, but the problem remains, the option of Local Directory still doesn't show on Directory button.
I´m going to open a TAC case, to see if they have this problem reported.
When i've news, i' ll share here.
Thanks,
LM

Hi,
As promised, here's the answer for my problem.
For default, and i had not noticied, the command "ip http server" comes in "no" form, so we need to put im in "ip http server" to able the http traffic needed for the services.
Thanks for your help and answers.
Best regards.
