CME (LAB)

Hello,

Have a simple questions about setting up express on a lab router.  We have an assorted mix of 38xx, 29xx and 39xx series to test with, but wanted to get a feel for the interface and cmd line a bit in a lab eviorment.  With the 12.4 versions phased out, will downloading the 15.0 version on any of those routers allow me to use "most" of the functions and get a small lab online?  Or will it prompt for the key before allowing me to configure any phones, gateways or users?

Thanks,
Andrew

Hi

Yes, 15.X IOS is latest IOS for CME also. with 15.X IOS you can get latest CME features and you can run your LAB.

It will not prompt for Key but for ISR G2, you will have to accept EULA and should have activated voice feature pak.

In addition 15 train requires more RAM than 12.4, so ensure you your router meets the minimum requirements before loading it.

Thanks guys, I taken your advice and been at the wheel now for a few days with no luck so far.  Gonna keep trying other versions till I get it, but just can't get that darn web gui to come up.  Not that I love gui's or anything, just want to get the full experience and "full setup" under my belt is all so I can move on to the next thing.  Not sure what's the issue but so far I can get the web page to prompt for user credentials but either goes to a blank page or 404 page error.

@Ronak

Yes, uploaded a few different versions when things jsut didn't work out.  Formatted the flash and threw a new version on each time.  I'll check out that doc and see what I'm missing here.

hi

Cisco Unified CME GUI files are version-specific;  GUI files for one version of Cisco Unified CME are not compatible with  any other version of Cisco Unified CME. If you are downgrading or  upgrading your Cisco Unified CME version, you must downgrade or upgrade  your GUI files.

That you are correct sir!

When I move to another version IOS I've been changing them to the matching CME files as well.  I've been using this matrix as a guide to match up an IOS to a CME version.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucme/requirements/guide/33matrix.htm

Got it!

Since I'm on IOS version c2900-universalk9-mz.SPA.150-1.M10.bin I cleared out the GUI files and now using 8.0.  All good now.

Thanks all,

Andrew
