CME on 4331

Hi Everybody,

This is my first time posting it here,

I have worked on CME in past on 29xx series routers, in that we use to upload telephony files explicitly to get it working, just now i got one 4331-V/k9 router to do a CME on it, and i read that CME files are already embedded on it so I just went ahead and configured as usual  for 1 7821 and 1 6921 Ip phones under telephony service and voice register global but I cant get the sip phone 7821 to register.

I am attaching show command for show run, show voice register global, show telephony service, show version, show license and show flash ( these are before 6921 registration)

Kindly help me if I am missing anything

You miss registrar server command under SIP.

voice service voip

voice register global
authenticate realm cisco >>>Remove this.

Check your 78XX firmware  , sometimes it need the latest firmware. Also make sure you have issued create profile under voice register global after making changes.

is it possible to upload firmware for only this particular model? and is it the same file for cucm also ?

Sorry for the delayed response,

I have tried with the same process as given except I just copied each file instead of making it tar file, but still no luck.

I looked up for the supported firmware for cme 12.3 in the matrix and uploaded the same

Just now i tried to upload a newer firmware sip78xx.12-1-1SR1-4.loads using the tar file, and checked the firmware under IP Phone--phone info,its still showing old FW, and upgrade as failed.. all the files are there in flash and load command is also given

can you tell me any debug commands to run coz debug ccsip message doesn't show anything,

IP Phone take the correct IP and tftp ip

You can debug tftp, if memory serves me there are some different options you can use for this. Look it up in IOS or in command reference document.

Thanks Roger, I forgot about tftp debugs to lookup

and ccsip messages came only when the phone was upgraded and register

I just found the issue with my tftp alias command, my router has bootflash, so making the necessary change in alias command helped in resolving the upgrade issue

 I also have read in another forum that there is an issue with sip78xx.12-0-1-11 so upgraded to sip78xx.12-1-1SR1-4 which resolved this
