Compatibility of NM-HDA-4FXS= and EM-HDA-8FXS= with Cisco ISR4451-X-VSEC/K9

Hi Everyone,

We are upgrading 3825 router to 4451. The old router has these enhanced modules NM-HD-4FXS= and EM-HDA-8FXS= where total 12 FXS ports are configured. Can those two modules be moved from 3825 and attached to the SM slots of 4451. Will that be compatible? By the way, we only need to purchase one SM-X-NIM-ADPTR, then plug in NM-HD-4FXS and EM-HDA-8FXS. Thanks.

I don't think that would work, the SM-X-NIM-ADPTR card is to expand the SM slots on the 4K router so that you can add more NIMs to the router if needed beyond the available NIM slots on the chassis. This adapter card is only for the NIM modules and not EM modules.  You will need to purchase compatible NIMs for the 4K router.
