conf resources

In cucm is it possibel to combine in soft and hard conf resources in a single MRG and will that cause any issue? Appreciate your replies.

Hi,

Yes it is possible to configure software and hardware conference resources in a single MRG. Resources are selected in an MRG in  round robin .

A single conference call cannot use both a software and hardware conference bridge in the same call.

However, a conference call can have both sw and hw resources.

eg:A software conference bridge(sw resource) is capable of doing only g.711.If one of the parties negotiate g.729, ths conference call will go through if the MRGL contains a transcoder (hw resource).

The harwdware conference bridge is capable of doing g.729. So if a hardware conference bridge is invoked, and one of the parties negotiate g.729, this conference call will go through.
