My router currently has a "profile conference" which supports 18 conference with 16 participants

It is possible to support a conference of 32 participants and holding conferences of 16 participants?

If this is possible would have a guide on how to accomplish this?

NOTE: You should assume that the router has the necessary DSP to support the conference.

In addition the server is a cisco callmanager 8.6 with Cisco IOS Enhanced Conference Bridge

With G729 codec in the profile 16 is the max:

You could change the profile to only use G711 and then change the max-participants to 32, and add a transcoder profile to be engaged when remote users need to be added to the conference.

The CFB reserves the resources for the maximum number of participants for each conference once you configure it, this is not dynamic.

You would need to specifically create a profile for 32 conferencees, and that would be the max number of conferencees you will get on PVDM3 since you have G729 in the profile. With only G711 you can go as high as 64 participants.

Assuming you have not used that PVDM for anything else, you could still configure around 35 conferences of 8 users with the same dspfarm profile.

The router will not know, CUCM controls all that via MRG and MRGL, you'll need to adjust that in CUCM as you need.
