Conference call on CUCM

Hello Guys,

I want to setup conference call system in my office using CUCM. This will allow us to call vendors or they can call our line during a conference meeting.

Currently we have a Cisco ISR 4321 with a 1MFT-T1/E1 module and a PVDM4-32 module

We also got a 10 channel E1-PRI  trunk from our provider.

I want to know if conference call will work using CUCM and other components we have and how i can achieve this.

Really need your assistance guys.

Can you add a "show inventory" please ? If you already have a 32 channel PVDM and a E1 circuit you are already consuming all the DSP resources. I did not understand from your post when you said "10 2 channels".

If you need to have ISR-4k host the CFB then you would need to add PVDM's to the mobo. This is recommended. The PVDM's on your NIM cards can be used for media resources as well but it is not a good practice.

We have a PVDM4-32 (32-channel DSP module). Currently i just need the processes on how to get this working. Done a lot of research but i need a step by step process to help my research.

Mate,  I am with Nipun on this one, sure you can add additional PVDMs to your ISR or add an ISR solely for CFB resources, but the options are very limited.

Break down options to your decsiion makers on CMS and webex. these are more suted and allow scheduling as well.

Are you looking for ability to have scheduled conferences or just ad-hoc conferencing initiated by internal phones?

If scheduled then you'll need conferencing solution such as CMS, if ad-hoc you can utilize either PVDM based conferencing or CUCM based (G711 only).  If you are on version 11.0+ you can implement "Conference-Now" feature which is basically "poor man's conference bridge" i.e. enhanced MeetMe.

We want to initiate conference calls via our cisco 4321 ISR gateway to a PSTN.

The voice gateway has a NIM-1MFT-T1/E1 module  and a PVDM4-32 module.

We have CUCM 11.5 so we just want to initiate conference calls with clients  and need process to go about it.

Hello Nipun, I made a mistake with that.

Kindly find below a list of what we have

  *cisco 4321 ISR

*NIM-1MFT-T1/E1 module - installed on the ISR

*PVDM4-32 module. - - installed on the ISR

  *CUCM 11.5

We are getting a E1-PRI line from our provider with 10 channels which is our connection to the pstn

Can you share an inventory output please ? Where is the PVDM ? On the NIM or on the MOBO ?

Hello Nipun,

Kindly find attached the file

The PVDM is on the NIM itself -

NAME: "NIM subslot 0/1", DESCR: "NIM-1MFT-T1/E1 - T1/E1 Serial Module"
PID: NIM-1MFT-T1/E1 , VID: V05 , SN: FOC21506B0X

NAME: "subslot 0/1 db module 0", DESCR: "PVDM4-32 Voice DSP Module"
PID: PVDM4-32 , VID: V02 , SN: FOC2203694S

I would suggest getting another PVDM for your media resources that will go on the chassis itself.
