Hi everyone,
I've got an ISDN line with around 8 MSN numbers connecting to my BRI 0/0/0 interface.
I'm trying to configure the interface to answer only specific MSN numbers, but can only find the option to answer up to 2 numbers using isdn answer1 <number1> & isdn answer2 (number2).
Any idea how this can be done?
Any help is much appreciated.
Regards,

You can use a voice translation-profile with rule to reject calls to the number you do not want to answer, under the voice-port or incoming DP.
hope this helps, please rate post if it does!

Paolo,
I've tried the suggested configuration but unfortunately the call still rings on the secretary's phone.
Here's what I've added:
!
!
voice translation-rule 2
rule 1 reject /23105551234/
!
!
voice translation-profile dropmsn
translate calling 2
translate called 2
!
!
voice-port 0/0/1
translation-profile incoming dropmsn
compand-type a-law
cptone GR
connection plar 49
bearer-cap Speech
!
I've also performed a test voice translation and it verifies that the call is blocked on rule 1.
Any ideas ?

Do not use connection plar.
Instead, assign the number you want to answer as secodary for the ephone. And, check with "debug isdn q931" and "term mon" that the called number is exactly the same you want to reject.

Paolo,
I'm left a bit puzzled by your last response.
ext.49 refers to a pilot hunt list:
!
ephone-hunt 1 sequential
pilot 49
list 30, 50
timeout 10, 10
description Huntgroup-Sec->Everyone
!
Can you please provide an example of your suggestion to help make it a bit clearer for me ?

or simply

Paolo,
I'm still having problems blocking the msn number I want. Here's the complete relevant configuration, perhaps you can point me as to where I've incorrectly configured the system:
!
voice translation-rule 2
rule 1 reject /23105551234/
!
!
voice translation-profile dropmsn
translate calling 2
translate called 2
!
!
voice-port 0/0/1
translation-profile incoming dropmsn
compand-type a-law
cptone GR
bearer-cap Speech
!
!
ephone-hunt 1 sequential
pilot 49 secondary 23105551234
list 30, 50
timeout 10, 10
description Huntgroup-Sec->Everyone
!
Do I also need a dial-peer for the above to work as I didn't use any previously due to the 'connection plar 49' command.
Many thanks,

Well, the "reject" number and the pilot secondary should be different, it is so in your actual configuration ? Also you don't need "translate calling".
You also need a DP with "incoming called number ." and "direct-inward-dial".

Paolo,
Thanks again for your input.
Can you verify the following configuration is correct as per instructions so I can give it a try? :
!
voice translation-rule 2
rule 1 reject /23105551234/
!
!
voice translation-profile dropmsn
translate called 2
!
!
voice-port 0/0/1
translation-profile incoming dropmsn
compand-type a-law
cptone GR
bearer-cap Speech
!
!
ephone-hunt 1 sequential
pilot 49 secondary 23105554321
list 30, 50
timeout 10, 10
description Huntgroup-Sec->Everyone
!
dial-peer voice 100 pots
destination-pattern 23105554321
incoming called number .
direct-inward-dial
port 0/0/1
Thank you.

Seems fine ...
Note in reality cptone for BRi prots doesn't do anything, and beare-cap is often best left to default.

Paolo,
Your suggested configuration worked fine ! Many thanks for your patience and effort!
What I'd like to try out now is apply the above scenario to a voice gateway which routes all incoming calls to a CUCM system.
Here's what I've tried, but it didn't work on the remote system:
voice translation-rule 2
rule 1 reject /210500500/
!
voice translation-profile dropmsn
translate called 2
!
voice-port 0/0/0
translation-profile incoming dropmsn
!
!
dial-peer voice 400 voip
destination-pattern 210...
voice-class codec 1
session target ipv4:10.0.0.1
!
I tried also applying the translation-profile to the dp 400, but it didn't work.
In my previous example, we placed the number we wanted to ring, as a secondary on the hunt group's pilot (ephone-hunt 1 sequential
pilot 49 secondary 23105554321).
In this particular case, all incoming calls are routed to the call manager system.
Any ideas or suggestions ?

Just configure a proper destination-pattern for the numbers you want, under DP 400.
Thanks for the nice rating and good luck!
