Hi all
Is it possible to connect POTS phones to a switch across the network using ATA,s? Or is it a case of having to connect point to point over the structured cabling using balons back to FXS port completely by passing the network?
Thanks
Simon

I have no structured cabling / RJ45 outlets at the required remote locations to patch back to. However they have spare switch ports going back to the comms room where the POTS lines are presented

You can use these for any purpose. No baluns are needed. You can also find pre-made splitters.

So are you saying I can use ATA's for the phones and link them back to the POTS lines over the network?
Thks
