Dear All Experts !
Please help me this problem. My company has Alcatel OminiPCX Enterprise PBX. There is a NPRAE-2 Card on this PBX and It support only E1 Qsig signalling. So now I need connect it to Cisco voice gateway 3845 via E1 Qsig. But I has Layer1 Problem. The controller is still down. I has just some test:
1. Loop:
- PBX loop : OK
- Voice-gateway loop: OK
- But when they connect together (TX ring on Voice gateway connect to RX ring on PBX and vice versa), the controller is down. I'm sure that no cable problem.
2. Both of devices have ground connectivity.
3. I changed framming type on controller E1: CRC - No-CRC and changed linecode: ami - hdb3 but not successful.
Please give me some suggestion.
Thanks so much !

Hi
Can you check are you getting the slip errors on your E1 side ? You can do it by giving the following command on the voice gateway.
" show controllers e1" for your E1
Pl revert with the controllers e1 output. Based on this you can identify whether its a E1 related issue or your system related.
Thank you.

Send "show controllers E1".

Thanks for your reply. Here is the output of show controller e1 command.

I think controller 1 up only:
1. Tx and Rx ring on VG and PBX connects together exactly.
2. Framming and linecode on both devices are the same.
3. (Optional) VG and PBX have ground connectivity.
Looking forward from you soon. Thanks.

I send to you "Cisco configuraiton guide" that gives step-by-step configuration on PBX and Voice-gateway. But there are some differences:
1. on Alcatel PBX, we use NPRAE card (in cisco document, it's PRA2). NPRAE gives two E1 ISDN interfaces.
2. We use Cisco voice gateway 3845:

Hi Leho
Based on your "show controller e1" output, its clear you are getting an alarm "Transmitter is sending remote alarm" & receiver has loss of
frame. So you need to check your physical connectivity. Isolate your E1 connectivity from the Voice Gw and PBX and check by giving loops-break.
I have attached the link for your reference.
