Good day!
Today I have a funny scenario which I'm not quite sure how to solve, since the beginning of time we are using the Corporate Directory (LDAP) in our CUCM 9, because we support multiple countries our directory numbers starts with the plus sing (+) and then the full number (E.164)
So for example, we have this type of numbers:
+1 (913) 123 4567
+55 (11) 9876 5432
+61 (2) 9632 7412
Now, all the phone have the correct information and are able to dial using the corporate numbers, but today I notice that the 7940 models cannot dial any of the numbers starting with +61; on the other hand the 7941 & 7942 models can dial all the numbers without any issue.
The error we are getting is "Your call cannot be completed as dialed" -- the CSS, partition and all that is fine.
Dialing the number manually doesn't work either, it only works when I'm using the 4 digit shortcut, which is a translation to E.164 from 4-Digit.
7[4]XX is translated to +612963274XX
I'm assuming the problem is the plus sign, but the weird thing is that works properly for US (+1) and Brazil (+55) numbers.
Ideas?
Thank you so much for the time.

You are correct, the 7940/7960s are Gen 1 phones and those dont support + dialing. As far as why its working for the US, if i were to take a guess, there is a called party transformation happening somewhere (on the device potentially) that is helping you with this.

Try under device pool. You could look at DNA and it may tell you as well.

Hi George!
Found the solution!! :)
Because the phone is not able to dial the + sing, I help it with a translation, so everytime someone dials
61 (2) 9632 74XX I'm adding the prefix + and that solves the problem for the old 7940 :)
I never noticed the translations the previous admin added for USA en Brazil.
Thanks again George!! :)

Thanks for your reply George :)
In particular, do you know where can I look for the "Called Party Transformation" you are talking about? because I tried to compare my phone (7941) with one 7940 I was not able to find anything suspicious.
Thanks again!
Rolando Valenzuela.
