CUBE 4331 High Availability question

Hi All,

I would like to configure HA on two cisco 4331 CUBEs.

My understanding this can be done with Redundancy Group Infrastructure configuration.

Redundancy Group Infrastructure requirement is to have a 3rd connection via a switch for HA keep-alives, checkpointing.

The 4331 box has only 2x RJ45 based ports so there is a missing one for the Redundancy Group configuration.

The NIM cards (eg. NIM-ES2-4) seems only for Layer2 configuration.

Am I missing something or this box can not be configured for HA?

Many thanks for your time and help

Regards,

Tibor

Hi Tibor,

The HA options on ISR 4000 series are given here

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/routers/access/4400/software/configuration/guide/isr4400swcfg/configuring_high___availability.html

Hi Manish,

Many thanks for the link, this seems quite general one.

As mentioned I have 2x 4331 boxes.

Can you please tell me if this particular box supports HA configuration ( with Redundancy Group Infrastructure)?

Regarding the Redundancy Group Infrastructure configuration this requires a 3rd interface but by default there is only 2x RJ45 based ports on 4331, so there is a need to add a NIM card (NIM-1GE-CU-SFP), if I'm correct.

Can you please tell me, if in this case Hw is okay for HA configuration with Redundancy Group Infrastructure configuration?

Many thanks,

Tibor
