cucm 11 and voice gateway IOS

Hi, I'm trying to  migrate to cucm version 11.

My voice-gateways have a release 15.2.1.

It' necessary to update  it to new version?

Hi,

You can verify as per the following matrix for the recommended version of IOS

However, in case of IOS backward compatibility works with cucm so even this current version would work , however upgrading to the recommended version gives you more bug fixes and new features.
