CUCM 7.1.5 Publisher recovery from subscriber

Ruslan Amrahov

Dear all,

I've got cucm 7.1.5 cluster and the trouble is that publisher's database and file system got down. They did not do any disaster recovery backup. My quieston is how can I recover Publisher without this data? If I will reinstall the publisher and reconnect it to subscriber, will it get database or will erase it?

Unfortunately you need a DRS backup in order to restore the publisher.

Replacing the Publisher Node

Hi Ruslan,

I know this does not help you now, but I thought I would add that the

feature/ability to restore a Pub from the Sub dB is added in DRS for CUCM 8.5

Cheers!

Hi, Rob,

Even if this does not match to my case I'd like to thank you for this info!)

I'm moving forward to open the case on TAC))

Hi Rusnal,

Did you try and run the recovery disk on the publisher?

Also just to let you know that you can infact take a backup from the subscriber even in cucm version 6.x/7.x if the pub is down.( this is a new process)

This requires root access and certain commands from the root.

As you are planning to open a TAC case, you are moving in the right direction.

So step one should be to run the recovery disk and try to bring up the publisher, and step two would be to involve TAC.

thanks to God I was able to boot from inactive 7.0.2 partition and get recovery info from there. Of course it is not recent configuration but it got me out from adding 500+ IPPhones)) Now I need only to add two mgcp voice gateways and it's all)
TAC engineer asked me for logs and so on. Because of fschk did not help I decided to completely reinstall CCM.
