Hi,
We are running a CUCM 8 cluster and have a cisco 2811 that is taking care of sip trunk connectivity for PSTN access.
The 2811 is also our MTP,CFB and Xcoder.
Whenever we put an inbound or outbound PSTN call on hold, there is silence. Internal calls have no issues with MOH.
Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks,
Jeroen

If that did correct it, it's pretty obvious a MTP is in use. I will have to research to find the bug ID if you are indeed hitting this. But I remember that the the fix was actually a downgrade of the gw IOS.

Hi,
Do you have media resources assigned to the SIP trunk? (MOH mainly)

Nick

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. I have the same MRGL assigned to the sip trunk as I have assigned to my phones.
Both cucm moh resources are part of the MRG.

Hey,
Are you using unicast or multicast?
What exactly happens when you place a call on hold? Do you hear a tone?

Hi Nick,
I'm using unicast. When I place a call on hold, it is just silence, no tone.

Hi,
Try checking the MTP checkbox on the SIP trunk page.

Hi Nicolas,
MTP is allready checked.
Thanks,
Jeroen

Hi,
Are you by any chance using the g.729 codec?
Have you enabled all the codecs in the service parameters-> ipvms-> all moh codecs?
04-08-2011 07:12 AM
Hi Payal,
Only 711ulaw was selected. I have now selected all codecs and restarted the IPVM services on both nodes.
still the same issue.

Hi,
I guess yo are resetting the trunk (just making sure )
Try adding the following in the VG: "ccm-manager music-on-hold"

Hi Nicolas,
Did not reset the trunk yet after the change. Have done it just now and the issue persists.
I have also added the command "ccm-manager music-on-hold" on the gateway, same issue still.

What version are you running on 2811?
Is the 2811 acting as a SIP to SIP CUBE? If so, do you have 'mid-call signaling passthru' configured?
Or if it is H323 to SIP CUBE, is emptycapability configured?
Do you see the output of 'sh call active voice brief' change to the IP of CUCM when the call is put on hold?
Have you collected a debug off the router during the issue?

Hi Steven,
Thanks for your reply.
I'm running 151-3.T
The 2811 is acting as a SIP-SIP Cube
I do have the 'mid-call signaling passthru' configured.
When I put a call on hold, the IP address changes to IP 0.0.0.0:0
Thanks,
Jeroen

Hello,
I believe you may be hitting a bug...What type of MTP's are you using in the MRG? Are they hardware or IOS sw? If so could you try using CUCM SW MTP and see if that works.

Hi,
I'm using hardware MTP's. I'll give the software MTP's a try and report back.
Can you share the bug ID?

Jeroen
