CUCM backup failed if backup sever logged off/closed, (SFTP stop working)

HI All,

For one of my client, I have configured schedule backup for CUCM in DRS and mapped with backup server where I have installed and configured SFTP software.

Now if my backup server is logged in then scheduled or manual back up works perfectly however if I logged off or closed the backup server then neither of backup works.

Same setting and configuration I have done for one of my other client which works perfectly.

Please help, so that backup will be scheduled in case of backup server just logged off.

Thanks

GA

Hi,

This will be down to your SFTP Server software.  If the backup server is a Windows box the SFTP Server meeds to be setup as a Windows Service, otherwise it is interactive only which will stop when the session is logged off.  The only way of getting around that would be to leave it locked, but someone at some point will come along and log it off.  Please see the below Cisco article recommending particular SFTP Servers.  Personally I use Solarwinds free SFTP Server for Windows and that works great.  Saying that, thankfully, I haven't had to do a restore yet, a backup is only as good as it's ability to restore.

Thanks
