Hi team,

We have few doubts on cucm 9.1.2 upgradation and ip address change .

1.what are the prerequisite for changing the ip address of cucm, cuc, cer, uccx from existing to new ip address change?

2.first we need to change the ip address of publisher or subscriber?

3.will there be any impact on changing the ip address of subscribers ?

4.planning to change the ip address of subscribers without changing the publisher  ip address.Do we  need to be rehost for subscribers ?

regards

Hi Balaji,

You should start changing IP address with CUCM Publisher and check for registration of 2-3 phones .After this, u can change  IP address of Unity/UCCX application. If successful, then change for CUCM subscriber. Till this time, DB replication would break between CUCM servers.

Pre-requisite should be that  u need to check all the applications where IP address is being used. You need to check in DHCP[if used] pool where tftp address also needs to be changed else manually needs to be changed in each phone.

you can refer the link shared which says

Modify IP Address of Subscriber Server Defined by IP Address

Use this procedure to change the IP address of a subscriber server if your servers are defined by IP addresses. To successfully change the IP address, you must complete all steps in this procedure.

When changing the IP address of more than one subscriber server, we recommend that you:

a. Change the IP address for one server at a time.

b. Restart all other servers in the cluster (including the publisher server) to update the local name resolution files including database related configuration files

regds,

i read that we can change the ip of publisher and subscriber in order any order ? is it right ?

Hi Balaji,

First change the IP address of the publisher and make sure that the new IP address is updated on all subs by Restarting all other servers in the cluster (including the publisher server) to update the local name resolution files including database related configuration files as mentioned by Aman

Then go ahead with the sub ip address change process

Make sure that you are updating one server at a time and proceed with the reboot of the cluster

Once you confirm that the IP address change is fine, go ahead with the next
