CUCM DRS: Backup Pub and 1x Sub only

Hi guys,

I am in the process of installing a configured CUCM cluster on site. I have 1x Publisher and 2x Subscribers. Subscriber 1 is local and Subscriber 2 is remote.

At the moment I don’t have comms to Subscriber 2.

I have a DRS schedule that backs up the full cluster which fails due to not being able reach Subscriber 2. However in the interim, I want the DRS to backup the Publisher and Subscriber 1.

Is there a way I can achieve this please? Once Subscriber 2 is online this interim schedule will be removed.

No, it will always attempt to backup all servers in the cluster, otherwise you'd see that option in the GUI (choose servers).

Is there a way around the issue until comms are available to Subscriber 2? Can I not just select Publisher 1 and Subscriber 1?

As mentioned in my previous reply, there is no option to choose servers when doing a DRS backup. It's the whole cluster.

Can you restore a 'failed' DRS backup but only the component/nodes that were successful?

I doubt it and wouldnt want to try it.
I guess the best path looks like:
1. Ensure no phones are registered to the Unreachable Subscriber
2. Remove the unreachable Subscriber from all the Callmanager Groups
3. Delete the unreachable Subscriber
4. Take the DRS Backup
