CUCM PUB is crashed

@Syed

Dear All,

Need urgent help.

I have 2 nodes in my CUCM cluster (PUB & SUB) and PUB is crashed due to power outage, and the problem is I have lost backup of PUB node also.

I have rebuild publisher node with all the previous IP settings and I can login to it.

Can I restore the PUB using SUB backup which 6 months old from now, will I be able to bring it back to normal.

Referred the below document and understood that it can be doable from subsequent node’s backup.

Restore the First Node Only

Can someone guide me as to how I can fix this issue, please?

Awaiting for your valuable support.

Hi Syed,

Please follow the procedure mentioned in the below document to restore pub from Sub database:

Adding on to Rajan's post, the procedure is a bit tricky and the feature is introduced from CUCM Version 8.6. The major thing you need to watch out for is that replication does not kick in until the process is done, otherwise the PUB's blank database will be replicated to the SUB's and it's DB would be wiped, although you have a backup its old and there might have been a lot of changes on the present config. I'd suggest opening a TAC case, so they can help you out the procedure. Alternatively there is a procedure to restore the SUB's DB to the PUB which TAC can do but the success rate for it is very low so the first procedure would be your best bet.
