Hello,
We are in the process of upgrading an exisitng CUCM version 4.1.3 to version 8.0. The new CUCM version will be installed in a new set of UCS servers in the VMWare environment while the existing one is installed in the previous CUCM servers. Could anyone send me a step by step procedure to carry out the upgrade please? How should I transfer the exisiting database to the new CUCM?
Regards,
Chandrasen

Hello,
Yes , it is the exactly the same , but cisco didn't upload it , that's all.
Just make sure to download the DMA that is related to the 7.1.3

Hello,
First you have to upgrade to version 7.1.3 , direct upgrade from 4.X to 8.0 is not supported because there is no DMA tool for 8.0
Be aware tht upgrading from 4.X to 7.1.5 will not let you upgrade to version 8.0 , it must be 7.1.3 or earlier version.
Check this document for the upgrade from 4.X to 7.1.3
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/upgrade/7_1_2/upgrd712.html
Then you do a normal upgrade from 7.1.3 to 8.0

Amer,
Thanks you very much for your invaluable help. However I have seen the document is for upgrade from Rls 4.X to 7.1(2). Do you think it also applies to Rls 7.1.3?
