CUCMBE 6.x and DNS

If you are installing a new CUCMBE 6.x and the existing customer does not have a DNS, do you tell the customer to build his own DNS to be use by CUCMBE or CUCMBE has an internal DNS that automatically runs by default? The phones I connected are having a DNS timeout.

Having DNS in UC environment is strongly suggested, but the phones don't really need DNS for anything, unless you need it for access to some xml services, etc. You can always create seperate DNS environment and put UC components in it, but the question is do you need it.
