CUCME to BE6K Migration

Hi All

Just about to pull my hair out here (what little I have left) with regards to CUCM BE6K licensing.

I have a (previously loyal) Cisco customer who has about 200 seats licensed on CUCME across 5 or so sites.

They now want to migrate to a centralised model and deploy a Contact Center solution for about 20 agents. BE6K is a perfect fit for them.

We are however being told from UK Distribution that we cannot migrate a CUCME deployment onto BE6K. Other forum posts on this subject seem to indicate that the 3+3 promotion can be used, however our main UK distributor is adamant that it cannot. Their line is that the customer needs to buy NEW UCL licenses for 200 users despite already having bought phone licenses for them already and being told for more years than I care to remember that their investment is protected.

I cannot believe that this is true. If it is then it's fair to say that Cisco have just lost a customer.

Any input appreciated.

Thanks. Barry

Hi Barry,

Have you seen this thread?

Cheers!

Hi Rob

Thanks for the post. Yes, this is one of the threads that I looked at - which seems to confirm that 3+3 should be possible. However one of Cisco's official UK distributors are adamant in saying that it can't be used for BE6K.

I've lit a rocket and fired it into Cisco through our AM. It's just yet another example of the mass confusion out there with respect to licensing of Cisco UC products. I just wish someone would *listen* to the Cisco partner community about this.

Thanks again. I'll post back with any further updates I get just in case anyone else has the same issue.

Barry

Ok. For those of you who are interested, there is now a migration path available from CUCME and CUE to BE6K.

It does use the 3+3 promotion ($3 per user + 3 years UCSS) for both CUCME and CUE.

Unity Express migration to Unity Connection running on the BE6k  IS covered.

Ordering guides have been updated for the BE6K.
