Is it possible customize the range of ports that RTP will use on CME ?
From the discussion " https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/12755766/specify-rtp-ports-use-cme " it seems that I can customize the RTP ports inside the range 16384-32768.
My customer wants to use the RTP port range from 10000 - 14000, is it possible ?

Mauricio

Hi Mauricio,
Although its not documented but you should be able to do this. You can change it during a small maintenance window and make some test calls like internal and external calls with hold, transfer, forwarding , conferencing tests to determine if something gets broken. For any official confirmation you may check with TAC.

Hi Manish,
Thank you for reply.
But do you know how to do it ?
Because the command "rtp-port range " give me a range from 16384 to 32766 and I needed from 10000 to 14000.

Mauricio

Hi Mauricio,
I didn't check the port range allowed by that command, in case it is allowing only the default RTP port range then unfortunately you need to stick with this range only. As per my opinion it is not something the Service provider has to open a firewall pinhole for, if their firewall(s) are SIP aware then the RTP ports are opened dynamically by the firewall on a per call basis. For any further ( official ) confirmation you may check with TAC or your local SE / Acct team.
