Dear Community:

On CCO said that on version CUCM 4.2 device-level setting get overwrite by Roaming Sensitive Settings when roaming on the same or different DMG  but on on version 10.5 said that device-pool level setting are the ones that get overwrite.

Which one is true?

Hi Alex,

For CUCM 10.x

Roaming Sensitive Settings

The parameters under these settings will override the device-level settings when the device is roaming within or outside a Device Mobility Group. The parameters included in these settings are:

  • Date/time Group
  • Region
  • Media Resource Group List
  • Location
  • Network Locale
  • SRST Reference
  • Physical Location
  • Device Mobility Group

For CUCM 4.x

Roaming Sensitive Settings

The parameters under these settings will override the device-level settings when the device is roaming within or outside a Device Mobility Group. The parameters included in these settings are:

Date/time Group

Region

Media Resource Group List

Location

Network Locale

SRST Reference

Physical Location

Device Mobility Group

I do not see any discrepancy there.

Look at this document:

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/admin/8_6_1/ccmfeat/fsgd-861-cm/fsdevmob.html

It said:

For roaming devices, Cisco Unified Communications Manager overwrites the following device pool parameters with the device pool settings for the subnet:

Date/Time Group
Region
Location
Network Locale
SRST Reference
Connection Monitor Duration
Physical Location
Device Mobility Group
Media Resource Group List

For example some of those parameters like "Device Mobility Group" are at the pool level and not at the device level.

They can not be overwrite at the device level...
