All,
I have the following DID configuration on my CME/voice gateway.
Will both be necessary and what will they do? Does "incoming called-number ." mean any calls from POTS line?
dial-peer voice 8900 pots
description 89xx DIDs
incoming called-number .
direct-inward-dial
dial-peer voice 10 pots
description 10xx DIDs
incoming called-number .
direct-inward-dial
port 0/0/0:15
Thanks.

DP 8900 is enough.
Port is not considered after incoming called-number.

Thanks for your reply. What does DP 8900 do then? To forward all the incoming calls from POTS to CME without changing any numbers?

We match both an inbound and an outbound dial-peer any time a call traverses a voice gateway.
Dial peer matching decisions are explained thouroughly in this doucment. Read it until you understand it; it is one of the most important concepts for IOS voice:
