Hi Friends,
We are planning to up grade our CUCM setup from 8.6 to 9.0.
Before doing it, would like to the difference between version 8.6 and 9.0.
Basic information about our setup:
1. Current CUCM ver: 8.6
2. Users count : 5500
3. Using feature : Extension Mobility

First of all you should be using 9.1 (latest release of this version and not 9.0)
Second, you need to check the features guide and determine which feature will affect your users.
One of the major difference in 9.X is the License Manager (ELM) you need to understand in detail how this works and plan your upgrade accordingly.

In addition to the useful points suggested by Ayodeji (+5) , you can always check the release notes of any major cucm version, it has a section called 'new and Changed Information' or new features, the one for cucm 9.0.1 is given below

Hi,
In addition to what Manish has said[+5], there are features like LDAP enhancement, Native Call Queuing,Codec Preference,centralised License management [ELM] introduced in CUCM 9.x
