Hello All,
I just ran into a situation where the phones on CM are SIP but there are no DNs configured in CM where I am used to seeing them. Does that mean the Telco is hacind out DN information or is it configured somewhere other than on the phone in CM? Also looking to configure an external number mask but since the DN is empty......
Thanks in advance. All replies rated.

Phones DN has nothing to with Telco. If sip phone has no DN assigned, it will never register. Simply go to device/phone page and see which DN is assigned to a phone.

That's the problem. There is nothing configured on the phones in CM for DNs

Then you should configure DN as per your requirement. Go to device/phone page and add new DN. EPM is also configurable on DN page.

Thanks everyone for the reponses. It turns out the DN settings were under the Extension Mobility profile and that's why they were not showing up on the phone itself

Can you pick a phone that you know is working, write down its MAC address, and do a search for that on CUCM.
Once you find the device in CUCM, it will
a: be registered
b: if you can call the phone, it has an extension/DN.
otherwise, got to Call Routing>Route Plan report and search for a n umber that you know works, change the external phone number mask from there.

I am a litte confused, is this a Call Manager system that you administer?
As mentioned by Vivek, SIP phones need a DN to register.
Are these Cisco SIP phones or third party ones?
