Duplex audio problem with 7975 when used as speakerphone

Hey everyone,

I'm having a problem that I hpe can be fixed. We are having duplex audio problems when using a 7975 in speaker phone mode. For example; we have a call to out outside party and the speaker is on. We can hear the other party but they cannot hear us until they stop talking for a moment. If they don't stop speaking you cannot interupt them. I know there is a mic in this phone - that is not it. It is a one way audio issue if that makes sense. Two way coversations work perfectly if the user picks up the handset or uses a headset.

SCCP protocol

CallManager 7.1.3

MGCP gateway

G711 codec

Any ideas?

Could you please provide firmware version in the phone ?

Is it the issue with just one 7975 or multiple/all ?

Thx

GP.

The problem is with all of the 7975 phones. Or it is with the four or five we've tested.

The firmare is SCCP75.8-5-2SR1S.

This problem may extend to my 7965s and 7945s as well. I need to test.

I was thinking that there might be a setting somewhere that is set wrong. Maybe a gateway setting? Perhaps VAD? I'm just spitballing here.

Patrick, if that is the case with multiple 7975's, I would start with upgrading their firmware to latest. Your firmware is 9 release older. To rule out any bugs that might be causing it, the simplest thing we can do is keep them updated & then start looking elsewhere if it doesnt fix such issues. From my past experience, it did help.

If the issue was with one/two 7975s, I'd have looked into it's defective microphone & get it RMAed.

Lemme know how it goes.

I will upgrade to the latest firmware forst thing tomorrow and do some testing. I just looked at the download site. I am way out of date.

Sounds good, pls lemme know how it goes.

I still haven't had user feedback on this. I'll bother them Monday or try to find a 7975 to do my own testing. More later.
