Extension Mobility Query

I have a client using CUCM 4.1.3 SR2. The cluster has a PUB, SUB1, SUB2.

They have EM configured with the EM Service URL pointing to SUB2.

But the EM service is not activated in both the SUB, its running only on the PUB. EM works all fine, user is able to login, logout.

Can someone explain how this is working?

regards

Hi Prasanna,

This is the recommended design for EM :)

Servers in the cluster will attempt to use the publisher's database when initializing. If the publisher is not available, they will use the local read-only copy from their hard drives.

If the system is running but the publisher is not available, the following operations will not be available:

•Call forwarding changes

•Configuration changes

•Extension Mobility login or logout operations, and Device Mobility

Extension Mobility will not function without the publisher because it requires access to the read/write database. Therefore, Cisco recommends running this service on the publisher only.

From this great SRND Guide;

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/srnd/4x/42clproc.html#wp1070935

Hope this helps!
