This is a new problem affecting a set up which used to work. A call handler transfers a call to an external number, but when the call is answered, the caller still gets the hold music and the recipient gets silence. After hanging up, the called external number remains held, presumably by unity for about 5 minutes. Any idea where to start looking?
thanks
Allan

Ensure that the dial peer is defined. In addition, make sure it matches the call inbound on the VoIP side of the gateway. Issuing the incoming called-number command under a dummy VoIP dial peer ensures that all calls match an inbound VoIP dial peer.
VAD can then be turned off on this dummy dial peer by issuing the no vad comma

Do you have Unity setup to do a Supervised Transfer or Release To Switch? You should set it up just to Release to Switch.

Hi Mike, thanks for the reply. I had tried supervised and unsupervised and neither was working. I actually needed supervised as the call needs to come back to unity if not answered off switch. However the problem was caused by offnet to offnet calls being blocked, something we had changed ourselves in November having realised it wasn't very secure. So there was nothing wrong with unity - just the administrator.....!
