firmware 8861 SIP Phone

Hi All,

Once again I must ask for your assistance. I am attempting to upgrade my Firmware on my 8861. Currently I have the      11-7-1-17. I followed the video (See Link) and while it attempts to download the file it gets stuck and nothing happens.

The goal here is to be able to change my backgrounds on my bekm expansion modules.

Do you have CUCM or not?

Yes Leo I do have Call Manager Express. I did attempt to bypass CME by entering the TFTP server address to upload the firmware.

The system has 12 8841s, 1 8861 with 2 side cars.

the 8841s have the latest firmware which is on the flash card in the system. For some reason the 8861 never took the upgrade.

Have you put the new firmware files on the CME router flash and made the needed configuration in IOS?

Yes. The files uploaded to the 8841’s only. I will take a look but I have a feeling based on reading the links you’ve provided the 8861 was never specified and that could be why it didn’t update. I will advise. Thank You.

See attachment. When I followed the steps I get an error for a file not found. 

Now if the firmware is on the flash as a different file name (Which I am sure that is possible) where should these files be uploaded too on the flash drive. The 8841's show the latest firmware. This is all for one lonely 8861.

Sorry but CME isn’t something that I have all that much active experience with. You’re best bet is to read up on the topic or hope that someone on the forum that has more experience with CME would give you an answer.

Did you uploaded all the firmware files on flash ?  

Have you configured the TFTP path on router

Currently it should all be on the flash. What directory would it be pulling from? The 8841’s show the correct firmware. That being said I’m assuming all the files are uploaded. If I was to upload the files myself or to check where should they be?

You define the path with below command.

tftp-server flash:SCCP11.7-2-1-0S.loads >> use load file and path

Ok tried that and then when I went to do the load 8861 and the load file, then upgrade command I get 

error deleting flash:/it’s/OS79XX.TXT (File Not found)

Also there is 2 flash drives and apparently that’s where the 8841s pulled the firmware from when they were upgraded.

what is this file OS79XX.TXT?

Does your phone took the firmware you mentioned ?

if not can you just restart the phone and see if it takes the new load file.

I haven’t a clue what the file is. 
I will check it this evening and see if it’s updated I’m out at the moment. I did some remote work on it and rebooted the phone. For some reason though i don’t believe it took the new firmware. Any other suggestions?
