Force Cisco 9951 phone to do firmware update?

Is there way to force the phone to do firmware update?

The phone's pop up window won't go away after a conference attempt which doesn't seem to happen on other 9951s.

Jack,

Looks like you want to update just a single 9951 phone's firmware while keeping other 9951's at present load ( as they are not facing any issues ). Yes, you can update just a single phone, sure. Just put the to-be-upgraded phoneload name in the field " Phone Load Name " of Phone configuration main page from CUCM Admin.

Save it & restart it for the phone to take that new firmware.

You should be able to RESET the phone from CUCM and the phone should go down after there's no active calls. If for whatever reason the phone still thinks it's active, force it with a shut no shut on the switchports. This will allow you to reset the phones from a centralized point remotely. One of the many benefits of PoE.
