Fractional E1 - MGCP gateway

Hi all,

We configured fractional E1 on our MGCP gateway (1st 10 channels only).

My question is: Is it supported by Cisco? If any problems happen, do I get support from them? (and if possible, anyone can show me the documents/sites indicating that the feature is/is not supported?)

No, such is unsupported. If you want fractional T1/E1 you need to use H323.
You can search the topic in CSC and most likely find a reference link. Or search CCO for mgcp + fractional.

yes, jaime is correct,

also depends on the IOS version running on the H323 voice gateway. i was forced to dongrade a IOS version on a case where a fractional E1 was needed.

for partial E1 you need H323 gateway, it is not supported on MGCP
