FXO with MGCP

Hi,

I have a 2821 with VIC2-4FXO and CUCM 7.1 using MGCP. I am not getting Caller ID on the cisco IP phones registered with cucm.  I understand that Cisco does not support Caller ID using FXO and MGCP. Is this correct?

My setup is We have a NEC make PBX. A PRI line terminated on PBX. And from PBX four cables with RJ-11 cconnected on VIC2-4FXO.

On NEC side configuration four numbers from PRI DID range is bundled in a group and a pilot number maped to that four number. so whenver any call coming on this pilot number those calls will be distrubuted among four numbers and forward it to cisco voice gateway router then inturn voice gateway router forward those calls to cucm on a hunt pilot number.

If you have any sample configurations or suggest me if i have to change my voice gateway configuration/protocol to get caller id on cisco ip phones it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there,

CLID support for MGCP-FXS ports was not added until CUCM 8.x

Caller ID Support on MGCP FXO Gateways

Your best best to get callerID to work between the NEC and Cisco phones is to have a QSIG link between the systems that supports CLID.

hope that helps!
