Hello,

I'm looking for an FXS to FXO converter, to be connected to an FXS port of a Cisco router.

Do you know a reliable (and possibily cheap) one?

Thanks and regards.

There really is no such thing.  It may depend on how you define it though..

A PBX, key system or even a Cisco router with FXS and FXO installed are all essentially "FXS to FXO converters"

I recommend looking to add a FXO card to your router altough it is not entirely clear what you are trying to accomplish.  I assume you want PSTN connection to your router?  If so, FXO is what you need.

Hello,

I need that converter because I have a 1861 that has 4 FXS ports and that cannot be expanded with FXO ports:

So, since I need an FXO port to be connected to PSTN, the only way to use that router is an FXS to FXO converter.

Regards.

Such a "converter" does not exist. FXS is for analog station connections, fxo is for your POTS lines. they have a fundamental diffrence in the way that they operate. you will need to add a 2 or 4 port FXO module to your 1861 Routers vwic slot to be able to add more POTS lines to your implementation.

Mmm... What about this?

(If only they answer to my e-mails...)

Regards.

My apologies, I stand Corrected! That is the first I've ever seen of such a device. Still may be better though IMHO to get a second FXO card if your vwic slot is open. Without being able to test or find someone that has used this device before, I'd be leery of deployment in production.

Good Luck,
