We recently got these phones in our office and can't get the headsets
to work. There is no one designated ino our office as an administrator and I want to know if there is a setting I need to change on my phone so that the headset will work.
Any assistance anyone can offer would be much appreciated.
Thank you,
Dyan

What kind of headset are you trying to use and what type of connection does it have to the phone? Do you still have the handset (mouth and ear piece) connected to the phone? On the back of the phone make sure that the headset is connected to the second headset jack and not the handset jack, because if it's not then pressing the headset button won't do anything since nothing is plugged in there.

Hi Dyan,
What model of Plantronics Headset are you using? We have used many corded models like the H-91, H-101, H-171's. The one part you will need which is required for all "corded" Plantronics Headsets (to go from Headset Jack on 7962 to "Quick Disconnect" on Headset) is a special Cord (shown below);
Part# Amp-26716-01
If these are Cordless Headsets like the CS-55 or CS-70 Series make sure you set the Compatibility wheel on the Base Station to #4
Hope this helps!

The headset is a Plantronics that has an adapter with it. I do
have the headset in the headset jack and it still doesn't work. Is there a special cord that has to be used for Cisco phones?

Thanks so much. I thought maybe that was what I needed to do, but I was having a hard time figuring out exactly which cord I needed to get. I will order. Thank you again for your help Rob!
Have a good night,
Dyan
