Hi,
I have an installation coming up of a CCME in Hong Kong using a local IDAP circuit. Can anyone share any experience or potential gotchas with this implementation? The VG is a 2921 with a VWIC2-1MFT-T1/E1. Is it a standard T1 setup?
Thanks,
Les.

It looks like IDAP is a ISDN protocol variant for Hong Kong?
We don't support that protocol on IOS at this time. Here is what we support:
primary-4ess Lucent 4ESS switch type for the U.S.
primary-5ess Lucent 5ESS switch type for the U.S.
primary-dms100 Northern Telecom DMS-100 switch type for the U.S.
primary-dpnss DPNSS switch type for Europe
primary-net5 NET5 switch type for UK, Europe, Asia and Australia
primary-ni National ISDN Switch type for the U.S.
primary-ni2c The Cisco NAS-SC switchtype based on NI2C.
primary-ntt NTT switch type for Japan
primary-qsig QSIG switch type
primary-ts014 TS014 switch type for Australia (obsolete)
Can the provider provision the PRI for NTT or Net 5?

Hi, I am looking at a similar implementation in Hong Kong and was wondering if you got it to work using the IDAP circiut?
Thanks

Hi Andries,
We did. For this partiular installation we used the switch type primary-ni and it was configured along the lines of a regular T1 connection. I also saw a configuration over there that used primary-net5 for the switch type. The circuit was physically presented as RJ45. I would however strongly recommend confirming with the local service provider before hand on their exact requirements as it may differ from above. Also check the dial plan they use for external calls as the one we worked with used additional digits in their external access codes.
I hope this helps and it goes well.
