How much PoE Power does a 8961 Actually use ?

Hi All

I would like to know the actual power requirement for a 8961 when used with a 3750x Switch

I have seen only 15.4 W in every document I have found but that just goes by the fact that the phones are class 3.

A 7962 is class 2 but uses only 6.2W instead of the 7.5 that could be possible.

Can someone answer this that actually has this model in use ?

Cheers

Fraser

Hello Pierre.

Is there a PDF where this information is contained ? Also for other Telephones (the 9000 Series) ?

Power

100-240 VAC, 50-60 Hz, 0.5 A—when using the AC adapter

48 VDC, 0.2 A—when using the in-line power over the network cable

As far as I remember to get Watts you need:  48VDC * 0.2A = 9.6 W
