the customer wants on his cme if more than one caller called the extension not to get a busy tone which i think is done by "octo-line" which increases concurrent calls on an extension to 8. however checking the config samples on the internet it all shows the command done with ephone-dn. in my setup phones are configured with "voice register dn"
so would it be the same syntax?
also if i changed it to a registered phone would it cause an issue to the phone? would it unregister? is it better to disconnect the phone then connect it after config changes?

thanks for the input but please what is the difference between the two ?
'busy-trigger per-button' and 'max-calls per-button'.

max-calls-per-button is used for maximum calls (incoming and outgoing) which can go through that line.
busy-trigger-per-button is used to busy out incoming calls after the parameter set has been reached. So if an ephone has busy-trigger-per-button set to 2 and the phone has two active calls then the third call will go to voicemail (if set), busy tone or forwarded to another number if call-forward noan is set
