Hi
I have an issue where we need 4 phones to show the caller ID when calling outbound.
At the moment we have a call manager running version 8.6 and sending outbound pstn calls via a H323 gatway.
We have a route pattern 9.@ for all outbound calls
Can anyone tell me an easy way to do this ?
I need a fix asap
Many thanks

On the Route Pattern, check the box for "Use Calling Party's External Phone Number Mask". Then on the devices you need to ensure there is a External Phone Number Mask inputted. For the 4 phones that require specific ANI, place that number in there. For all other phones, place a generic number.

Hi
I don't want to put a generic number in on the other phones, I want it to show as withheld
Is this possible ?

Ah ok.
Yes
What I did in the past was create another Route Pattern, List, and Group with the same gateway as the other one. I then put the new Route Pattern in a partition and created a new CSS with this new partition. On the new route pattern, I did what i stated previously. No need to change the other devices that are currently set to unknown.
So essentially you will need to do the below.
1. Create new partition (Line-LD-CID_PT) -> New PT for Long Distance Calling with Caller ID
2. Create new CSS with above PT (Line-LD-CID_CSS) -> Make sure thsi CSS doesnt contain any access to other route patterns that block the Caller ID like you have currently.
3. Create New Route Group (PSTN-CID_RG) and add existing Gateway to it.
4. Create New Route List (PSTN-CID_RL) and add new Route Group to it.
4. Create Route Pattern in the newly created partition (Line-LD-CID_PT) and direct to new Route List.
5. Change CSS as needed on phones to ensure they use the new Route Pattern

Hi
I did a quick test first, I set the calling line ID presentation to Restricted on the route patterns for external calls, I then removed the clid restrict command on the PSTN gateways, however they still showed the number I was dialling from.
why is this ?

Can anyone help ?

You need to debug on the gateway to ensure that CUCM is setting it as restricted. If it is then you need to troubleshoot why the gateway isn't pushing it out or why the carrier is modifying.
Also make sure to check the route group setting for "Use Calling Party's External Mask" checkbox isn't checked. I have seen that override the restricted presentation.

Hi
Where is that setting?
I have set to restricted on the translation pattern, route, and gateway
I then ran a debug on the gateway and still see the calling number ext
any ideas ?

Sorry its not a checkbox but a dropdown on the Route List.

I cannot see it on route list
do you mean route list detail?

Detail for the specific RG.

Its on the route list detail
Use Calling Party's External Phone Number Mask, its has open of default / off / on
what do I select ?

Off
And make sure you are still doing restricted.

how would I then get 4 other phones to present there CLI and not restrict it ?

Do what I stated in my 2nd post with the multiple steps.
