How to get ringtones onto 7925G?

Hello,

We are trying to change the ringtone of the 7925G wireless phone, but it only has the Chirp 1 ringtone which seems to be stored locally…  We have an application that looks at the Ringlist.xml file in the tftp section of the CUCM 6.1.  Problem 1: Chirp 1 is not listed in the file for the app to retrieve.  Problem 2:  The 7925 doesn't have any of the ringtones listed in that file as an option for ringing...  If someone could please let me know how to add the existing rings listed in the Ringlist.xml to the 7925 phone it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Mike

The default (chrip) ringtone isn't in the configuration file it's built into the phone so that's why you don't see it in the ringlist.xml.  The 7925 should be able to download the ringlist.xml file and use custom ringtones (http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cuipph/7925g/7_0/english/administration/guide/7925usr.html#wpmkr1072626).  In the phone's status messages or console logs do you see any TFTP failures when trying to get the ringlist.xml file?  I would even try and get a packet capture from call manager (https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-11599) to see what path the phone is looking for the ringlist.xml file in.

Thanks Joe!  Got it!  I was thinking that this was some kind of limitation/feature setting of the 7925 that it only have 1 ringtone.  You got me thinking that it was an issue with getting to the tftp.  I took a look at the status messages and I remembered the common DHCP issue of setting Option 150...  That was it!!  The server team didn't configure this scope for IP phones...  Oh well..  Rookie mistake!  Haha.  Thanks again for putting me in the right direction!!
